Erskine Preston Caldwell

Erskine Preston Caldwell (December 17, 1903 – April 11, 1987) was an American author and short story essayist. His works about destitution, bigotry and social issues in his local Southern United States in books, for example, Tobacco Road (1932) and God's Little Acre (1933) won him basic praise, yet in addition made him dubious among Southerners of the time who felt he was belittling the general population of the area.

Caldwell composed 25 books, 150 short stories, twelve true to life accumulations, two personal histories, and two books for youthful readers.[13] He additionally altered the compelling American Folkways arrangement, a 28-volume arrangement of books about various districts of the United States.
